What a night. I was so tired by the time I got back, I just wasn't bothered to post in my blog.
Yesterday up until the point where we left for our soccer adventure was nothing really worth speaking of. I did some homework, yada yada. Anyway, so we left at 4:20 with hopes to get to Canadian Tire on Bloor in time for me to figure out WHAT the heck I was gonna do about not having any goal flags!! But they had nothing there at all!! Ahrhghgh!!! I was now the worst team captain ever!! We carried on the subway up to Yonge and Eglinton to meet our other friend and teammate, Dan. We were a tad early so I went and got money out of the bank..now that I think about it...40 dollars I took out and I have absolutely not a dollar of it left this morning!! geezus wtf. And went to the Dominion inside the shopping centre connected to the subway--since all the foodcourt was closed (damn!) Alas! In a basket I saw a bunch of Canadian flags with wooden sticks! Perfect for goal flag substitutes!! 2 dollars for both of them wahoo! and we got bodysmarts(??) bars to eat since we didn't know what the hell else to get, and water for the game. We went down and met up with Dan. Found the bus we needed, Eglinton West 32, and sat down and just talked the whole loooong ride there, while a very heavy thunderstorm ensued on the outside. I was frickin hungry again by the time we got to the field...stupid energy bar. But anyway, it was rather lucky, it was only lightly raining by the time we got to the field (wtf the field was sooo far away!). So us three, throwing the ball around, wondering if anyone on the team was going to show up, after that huge storm. We noticed a big team already on the field on the other side all in orange. Holy bananas, they had like 12 people there and looked so good. Thank goodness we didn't have to play them! *laugh* Yah..guess we read our map wrong...because that's who exactly we had to play last night!! omg!! They were so good! And half of our team--when finally everyone did show up!! didn't really know how to play! (including me!!). I have to admit, I was really intimidated. But as the game progressed, we started getting a feel for it, and started getting better. And more of our team showed up and helped out. I switched from forward--which I was..er.."ok" at but not that good, to goalie, where I was awesome. Yah sure we lost 11-3 but the point of the matter was that I stopped more goals than anyone else that played!!..except for that one guy but he was our main forward and was a good player anyway hehe. I am going to train for goalie. I was awesome. Anyway, even though we lost horribly, the other team was really nice and friendly and I think everyone had an awesome time. I had so much fun! I didn't take a single break basically for the entire 90 minute game!! I just couldn't get myself off the field it was too much fun!
Then we took the bus ride back to Yonge and Eglinton and I decided to meet up with HWMNBN and Dan took his other bus home and Rob took the subway back home. Me and HWMNBN went to Quiznos cuz I was starving like mad, and you know, I think Subway is better. And then walked around and chatted, went to Tim Hortons and had a hot chocolate and a muffin and I was conned into eating timbits. Dammit, all that cardio last night for nothing. I should have avoided the evils of TIm Hortons.
haha anyway, great night, got home, sooooo tired.
Now I am late this morning. I gotta get ready...going to get that fricking metropass and return those stupid vidja games.
Cheers everyone
