Not too much new! Same old!
Much progress on my novel has been made. Most of my time consists of imagining up what I need to make the story work.
As it sits, it's going to come in six installments. I've been designing this "world" from scratch in my head, along with the characters, and all the twists and ideas that go along with it. I seem capable of banging out about 3000 words average per chapter, so the first book should be completed by the end of summer....and then a lot of time is going to be spent on revising and editing it....I would love to tell you all about it but ...er...no.
I think the biggest pain in the ass is coming up with names for things, and being a sci fi, it becomes more so troubling. You want to get catchy names without sounding complicated or ridiculous...and my philosophy has to stick when devising the story and universe that goes along with the plot--complexity as simplicity. I always harken to the likes of Star Wars, or Harry Potter, or Lord of the Rings, or Battlestar Galactica, etc etc--what makes them successful is a tangable and original universe that you can almost imagine yourself to live in, as well as believable characters that you feel to know. It has to mask complex ideas into simplicity so that the reader can relate. I remind myself of that everyday as I'm writing--and that's why I spend so many reclusive hours alone, researching and thinking and devising my own material.

Six installments, you say! Yes, crazy--but not so much. I really appreciate Rowling's style of putting 1-year of the characters lives in one book. It lets things unfold and you can watch as the characters develop. Mine is an all-ages series, as well, and the growth of the characters is an important aspect of the story line, so I decided to use this feature as well.

Ok, I guess I don't see any harm in revealing Book One's title, though, and I can't decide between :
"The Three Kings of Founder's Gate" or "The Three Lords of Founder's Gate"

which one sounds better?

And the series title is still undecided...
erm...i'll get back to you.

anyway, besides that...been working and reading.
Had a few soccer games so far. Won one, lost one. Ah well. I'm a rubbish player but I'm getting better.
