ARGH ! I just wrote an entire posting and it got erased by some blunder! Yar!
I just said that I've concluded my Fri/Sat/Sun stint at the CHip Truck for the week and I'm now zapped of energy (from the heat and angry customers), so now I'm going to relax!
With some writing and reading, of course...
Last night in soccer, we won (yay!) and I had a shutout in net for when I played goalie first half, and I was alright in defense for second half (though my kicks were so so so pathetic, something was wrong).
Ummm and yeah!
On the chip truck yesterday, we talked about how I'm apparently hyper..oh well! hahaha.
Hey, the piece playing is Starbuck on the Red Moon and the other day, it was The Shape of Things to Come--all by Bear McCreary. I really enjoy the work he's done for Battlestar Galactica as a composer-especially the sweet twists between Irish pipes and Middle Eastern flares. So, you might have guessed what my favourite sort of music is then! I love cinematic scores, I think they're exciting.
And McCreary really blew me away with his stuff for BSG (just a tv show, too!)
And while I'm at it, I think i'd like to make a plug for the show! It's AMAZING, one of the best shows I've seen in a LONG time. I've gotten countless people addicted to it who aren't even sci fi fans. I think it's because it's very character driven--it's dark and gritty and hauntingly realistic (if we were in their place and situation) and they aren't afraid to shake things up-at all. I'm dead serious in that you never know who they are going to kill off next. There is just no fear in the writing of this show. Plus the twisted and mysterious philosophy that gets thrown into the mix with the issue of the Cylon's existance (ie. how they justify themselves). And the character depth is great, as well-and the actors and actresses play them so solidly. Love it. Check out this trailer for the beginning of the series:
