Did you know that (apparently) there is no such thing as the word "firstly"...or even "secondly!" and etc! It's bad grammar! And everyone uses it! Except for me. But withhold your praise and admiration, please - it was scared out of me by an English teacher. But is it true? It would be, First....Second...
First, I'm going to continue my little countdown to school. SIX MORE DAYS!!! Although I can't believe that between all of that, I have to make a ridiculously long drive up to Thunder Bay with my dad and brother. Overnight and all...be back on Sunday. I plan to bring my digital camera and my laptop...oh, and my ipod. I guess I'm too technologically dependent. In a way it's sad, but in many other ways it's not - because that's just the way society is now, so back off!
We're hoping to get internet in the hotel so I'll upload and post all of my trip pictures. I'm going to document the entire trip...because this is the only trip I'll have made all summer. Oh, except for the Glasgow Rangers game but...anyway, that's a long story. Besides, I go to school in Toronto what the hell would I be taking pictures of...
I guess we're leaving at 4am on Friday...or so I was told. Apparently my brother was told that we are leaving at 2am. That's so like my dad. It brings back memories of the few summer vacations we went on, Florida and Houston...we had to get up around 4am and start the long journey. I don't know how my dad did it.
Speaking of time, I'm just so relieved that that bloody train from sarnia to toronto is no longer a 5:25am departure. Because getting up at 4:30am is just wrong. I think it leaves around 6:30am now. So...I can get up at 5:30 (yippe). Or take the night train and get back into TO at freaking midnight. You just can't win.
Ahhh, only a small number of days left and already everyone is packing up to get back to their rez (if they are in one). I don't get it, personally. In fact, I'm shocked. My brother has been shopping for all kinds of things and my best friend is boxing stuff up and buying a ton of stuff. A TON of stuff! Everyone's just so prepared!
This is what I've purchased so far in preperation:
-Socks
-pens
.......that is all.
I'm not even going to bother packing until Sunday. Well, okay, that's probably not too bright of me. I'll probably be exhausted after the whole Thunder Bay ordeal. I'll probably pack away some stuff but honestly, all I've got is 2 bags of clothes, towels and toiletries, outdoor gear, soccer/dance gear, laptop and small printer, smallish box of books. The End. Oh and my kettle!!...
Second, ;)
I don't know what to do about Puppy (Neron). He likes to jump up to car windows to look inside. I, on the other hand, do not like him jumping up to car windows because he scratches the car door!!!!!! I had one freaking close call tonight and luckily the client was in my dad's office when it happened. There was a very faint scratch that he probably won't notice but boy did puppy get his nose whapped. And then I feel bad doing that to him because he's so happy and lovable. And he's still just as go-lucky after you do it (give er take 1 second of sad-puppy face). I don't know how to stop him from doing it. I plan to begin Operation Cut-Puppy's-Nails-Extremely-Short. I hate doing it though because he bites the clipper and occasionally my hand. And Brett is just...bobo.
....I'm also very sad to leave them behind. And I hope things work out with my parents managing them. eek.
Third,
I worked my last chip truck shift (hopefully for life) on Sunday. I was so happy to get out of there, being that bees were attacking us on top of the surly customers.
And we had dinner that evening at my nana and grampys. A nice full English SUnday supper! Butcher's cut of prime rib roast beef (the very very few times I eat meat), mash, roast potatos and peas, broccoli, yorkshire pudding and gravy. I love my nana's cooking! need I say more. And my grampy was very happy. His words exactly: "I say there's nothing better than a nice slice of roast beef." hahaha.
Me and nana had tea on the porche and talked about things I can't seem to recall now. Geneology came into it, at one point. Apparently her dad's relatives (or was it her mum's?...can't recall) came from a town called Hogsthorpe before the whole Nottingham thing happened....I'll have to look it up because now I'm straining to remember, but I think Hogsthorpe was still in the shire.
Anyway, I'm going to go back to writing now. I've finally banged my head against the wall long enough to come up with a definite plotline that I'm sticking with. Thank the cookie gods.
And in conclusion, I just love to smell an open box of fresh red rose tea. DON'T YOU?
