Yeah so...where did I leave off...

As always, I'm working hard, if not harder because of my performance the previous week! I er...dropped another course. I know, i know. But I'm getting really serious about my research interest and graduate school and it wasn't aligning with what I wanted to do so...goodbye!!
I was so scared about it, but now it frees up 2nd term for all of the courses I wanted to take that ARE related to my research interests. And that's what's important at this point, anyway (since I could graduate this year if I wanted to).

Ummm, what else is new. I'm still distracted, if you can well imagine! But I'm still not going to talk about it! Honestly, anyone can pop into these blogs and well, at least Colleen knows what I'm talking about. I'm trying to take the advice of my best friend though, and STOP THINKING! and just go with the feeling and the flow of things. But it's so difficult. But then again, saying something and risking everything to fall apart is even worse. So...anyway, I'm going to shut up now.

So, in general, my week was busy as hell. Trying to get stuff done and the like. It went by so quickly. I can barely remember anything about it. On Friday, I took the morning train back home. I hate the transition between school and home because once I'm in place somewhere, I am reluctant to pick up and leave. But I'm glad I did; I needed a break. It's been three weeks since I've been back previously and I really was missing my dogs and home. The train was actually pretty busy, considering it wasn't a holiday weekend or anything, but it was comfortable enough. I read a number of chapters of my geomorphology-ish books and zoned out with my music, mesmerized by the luminescent oranges and yellows of the trees that surround the route. Then I fell asleep. Typical. But I had the window seat, booya. It pays to be early, sucker.

It's been a good weekend, at any rate. I spent a lot of time outside with my dogs - especially playing soccer with my labrador retriever. Brett, the St. Bernard, just sat and watched. I've gotten a fair amount of work done, all considering, and even had time to watch the hockey game (and the Leafs won, booya!). I don't as much see a television at school for weeks, so...
My mum got me a wicked metal teapot with an inside loose-leaf strainer thing, so I can make both kinds of tea. And my dad had to take me into town to get a scientific calculator because I realized I couldn't live without one these days! hahaha. And I told my parents about my summer prospects finally. I was nervous to say anything because it means i'll be away for months and it could be anywhere in Canada, depending on what dig I can get myself on...or if the geological survey accepts me (hah...I'm starting to think not, however, becasue I can't drive a truck). That's pretty much the gist of it...not very exciting, I know. But hey, I like it out here.

Anyway, I'm considering looking for a job now..soemthing 5-6 hours a week, being that I've dropped in courseload and I could still use the money.
Next week promises to be a good one. BECAUSE I SAID SO. Every day is a good day! If you believe it! After all, it's all in your perception of things!

I'm going to get back to my work now. I'm trying to finish researching for this paper but I can't seem to stop and I'm in that Scared-to-Write-Stage. I also want to finish the rough copy of my lab.

In other random news, my mum is making a Sunday roast dinner and my grandparents are coming over for it. So English. It's FRICKING windy out here today!! And our power has gone out a dozen times already. Ah well.
